Adult Choir

Praise Team Singers

This group assists the Worship leader in leading the congregation in Praise through singing. Praise team members are selected from those who participate in the Exaltation Choir. Praise team currently practices on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30.

The Chalkhead Exaltation choir sings weekly and does seasonal musicals. Anyone age 13 or older may participate. There are no auditions. To join the group simply begin attending rehearsal on Wednesday evening at 7:30.

While many in this group are musically trained, most are not. As a matter of fact many members joined with no musical training and learned to read music, by sitting next to someone who does read music.

There are many tastes in music within the congregation and our music program reflects this. We sing everything from Stamps Baxter, to Third Day.

Our group ministry motto is “Above All Worship.” We enjoy praising our Lord through music and leading others to do the same. Join us for the fun.

Childcare is provided during rehearsal time if needed (call ahead).

Praise Team Band

This Ministry allows those who play rhythm instruments to praise the Lord through their instruments. What a blessing to have them provide accompaniment for the congregational singing, sometimes the choir, often for soloists, and from time to time they play instrumentals that help us worship.

We would love to have more than one team of players and rotate services. If you play an and instrument and think you would be interested, sit in with the group one rehearsal.

Music Students

Many of our congregation members are taking music lessons. As much as possible we allow them an opportunity to use their appropriate recital pieces to lead in worship.

If you are taking lessons on any instrument and would like to play, let us give you the opportunity to use your skill to glorify our Lord.

Audio and Visual Team

We use many tools to facilitate and enhance our worship services. One of these tools is the sound system. Another is the Visual ministry that controls the helpful screens during worship services. We have a wonderful team of dedicated technicians who participate and minister this way. However, this team needs to grow. If you are gifted in this area or even just interested, we can train you to enjoy facilitating worship through this important ministry.

Our children’s choir is one of the best anywhere. It is a seasonal choir that always does an outstanding Christmas Musical/Pageant.

We currently have 5 members of our choir in the Alabama Baptist Children’s Honor Choir.
